I participated in a 3 month Bag making course assembled by Schola in Florence.
It provided me an insight into how bags are created and what is important to proper bag making.
Well-made bags of any sort are precisely made
Here are some rules that are difficult to get around
• It is the internal reinforcements that often dictate the final shape of the item, some internals are used for no other purpose
• Internal reinforcements are thick, thin,hard, or soft depending on the desired outcome.
• Internal reinforcements can have cut-outs to dictate folding
• The location and assembly of all items, parts, and pieces, are strictly driven by sewing machine access
• Hardware does not come in “any size” find your hardware 1st
• Hardware must be chosen as early as possible,the hardware drives many dimensions and the final outcome
